Gmail down for two minutes; national panic ensues

How many national disasters can the nation endure? Those fortunate enough to have electricity and Internet access after Sandy were shocked to find Google’s Gmail service unresponsive for about two minutes today. What do you do when Gmail fails? Turn to Twitter, of course.

Gmail and gchat down. Literally no way to know if there are other humans out there. Except Twitter. Are you out there, other humans?

GMail is down – Time to get pens and start writing letters and placing them in envelopes and putting things called stamps on said envelopes

Four long minutes later…

GMail is back up – Forget all that pen, paper, and stamp crap I prattled on about – Who has that crap anymore anyway

Just this morning I projected there was a 77.4% chance Gmail wouldn’t go down today. Guess my model is broken.
